We are told to
"pray without ceasing," as prayer is the greatest weapon we have as Christians.  We must pray with "a clean heart" to our Heavenly Father and remain in close contact with Him, always praying that "His Will" be done, not ours.

 Fairlawn on Mission

Southern Baptists are structured to be on mission together, to reach all people.

We pool our resources through the Cooperative Program and our missions offerings (Lottie Moon at Christmas for IMB , Annie Armstrong at Easter for NAMB, and Ola Cox for WV State Missions) whereby our efforts, on all levels, are stronger than they could ever be if we worked alone.

Through the North American Mission Board (NAMB) and the International Mission Board (IMB), we as Southern Baptists are affirming God's call in the lives of our missionaries, sending out more than 10,000 men and women strategically located to share the Gospel, supporting them with our prayers and financial gifts.

What the Bible Says
About Prayer

"Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." Matthew 26:41

"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7-8

"Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for, it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 19:19-20

"If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer." Matthew 21:22

"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. " Mark 11:24-25
